In this video, West Aurora High School head coach Nate Eimer gives a detailed overview of the Double Tight Wing-T No Huddle system that he utilizes with his team that makes a difficult to defend offense even more difficult!
No Huddle System
Coach Eimer starts this presentation by giving an explanation on how his team uses three different tempos to keep the defense off balance, and how the no huddle tempo is effectively used to attack the defense before they are ready. He describes how his team has evolved to using the no huddle system at strictly a fast pace, and from one formation. You will see:
- How using one personnel group and one formation with five core plays allows the offense to use fast tempo without mistakes.
- How the play is called in the no huddle fast tempo system.
- When the best times are to use fast tempo to keep the defense on its heels.
Core Plays
Eimer also shares the five core plays that he uses with his double tight no huddle system. Each of the plays can be run from the same formation with similar pre-snap movements. Coach Eimer diagrams and explains Buck Sweep, Trap, Waggle, Belly, and Wedge. Each diagram includes individual position assignments as well as several examples using game footage to illustrate coaching points. Coach Eimer shares:
- How each play is called and how play direction is determined by the QB with a one word call.
- What the indicators are that the QB should look for in determining play direction.
- When to use the Wedge play, which features no motion, to catch the defense by surprise.
The Wing-T offense can be a potent rushing attack for any team. Combining the traditional Wing-T with a no huddle fast tempo approach makes this offense deadly! Keep the defense guessing, and keep the chains moving this season with the Double Tight Wing-T No Huddle.
